At the request of ARRB, Colin provided a two year update on developments within the Facilities Management road maintenance contract he Facilitates for Rodney District Council. Issues commented on include:

Advantages of an independent consultant facilitating and managing their contract deliverables

  • Why contract managers must now be a financial experts.
  • The success of a road maintenance contract depends on how successfully you manage the non pavement assets not the road surface.
  • Maintenance approach to high volume unsealed roads when you cannot afford the cost of seal extensions
  • Contractors' inability to effectively manage their sub consultant.
